Detail

In 1588, "The Education of Christ Children" printed by the missionary Fan Li'an was the first publication in China to be printed on a Western-style type printing press. The missionary Morrison truly introduced modern printing to Macau. His "Preacher and China Miscellany" was the first Chinese-English joint publication in China. Morrison pioneered Chinese lithography at the Majia British Printing Office in Macau, and also pioneered the use of lead type printing and copper type printing, and the first case of printing Chinese periodicals. The Portuguese "Bee Chinese Newspaper" published in 1822 was the first modern newspaper published in China and the first foreign-language newspaper founded by a foreigner in China. The first Chinese periodical published in China, "Miscellaneous Articles", adopted Western printing technology to be embedded in Chinese newspapers and periodicals. This is a huge progress in the history of cultural exchanges between China and the West. Radio Macau was initiated and broadcast by several radio enthusiasts in Macau, and has now developed into the most influential Macau radio and television organization in Macau. An argument that lacks textual research is that Macau was the first to have film projection equipment in Greater China (1893); it was also the first place (1896) to shoot movies.
