The ninth volume (collection) Integrity (Architecture)

Detail

Since the middle of the 16th century, with the introduction of Christianity, the development of commerce and trade, along with the increase in population, the needs of public affairs, and the mixed living of people from the East and the West, the religious buildings, public buildings, commercial buildings and residential buildings in Macau Architecture started to develop and gradually formed the unique architectural features of Macau. Various architectural styles of Chinese, Classical, Neoclassical, Baroque, Greek, Portuguese, Neo-Gothic, Classicism, Eclecticism, Romanticism, Modernism and Postmodernism make Macau an architecture Museum of Art. The architecture of Macau, which has long been at the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures, has always maintained their own architectural styles. The two coexist peacefully and set off each other, without affecting the purity of their respective architectural cultures. In the process of slow and delicate confluence of Chinese and Western cultures, some gene mutations of styles have also been produced, which "hybridize" architectures of eclecticism; these new styles of architecture have both oriental connotations and western atmosphere.
